Alcoholic Beverages License Information & Forms

All Alcoholic Beverage License info, forms, and payments are now handled by the Planning & Code Enforcement Department, located in the Oconee County Administrative Building, 7635 Macon Highway, Watkinsville, 30677 at 706-769-3907.

New Alcohol License Information

Alcohol license applications must be submitted through the State of Georgia Tax Center

Modified Alcohol License Information

An alcohol license may be modified if:

  • There is a change in:
    • Ownership; or
    • Registered Agent; or
    • Change of business name

If you are closing a current business and moving that business to a new location in unincorporated Oconee County, GA, then a new alcohol license application is required. 

Renewal Information

The deadline to renew an alcohol license is November 15th. To ensure you receive your license for the following year, renew your license online through the State of Georgia Tax Center by October 30th.

  • Ensure the Registered Agent (RA) for the business has an up-to-date RASS Training Certificate;
    • If there is a new RA for the business:
      • The new RA must complete a background check/fingerprint through the Planning and Code Enforcement Department
      • The new RA must complete a RASS Training Course through an Oconee County approved instructor

Once your renewal application has been reviewed and approved, someone from the Planning and Code Enforcement Office will contact the application/contact person listed on the application for payment. We accept credit cards (except American Express) and/or cashier's/bank check.
